Completely restored MkI version with the sought-after SME 3009 S2 improved tonearm and new Ortofon 2M Bronze cartridge.

Technically, this TD124 is in absolutely immaculate condition, in addition to the standard restoration all bearings of the stepped wheel and main bearing have been replaced.  A new N.O.S. original Thorens idler wheel was also installed. 

The chassis paint is in original condition and shows only minimal signs of use. After our extensive paint-reconditioning it shines like new again. 

The SME 3009 tonearm was completely restored. The nylon knife edge bearing, which is considered a weak point in the sound of this arm, was replaced with a tool steel bearing from Swissonor. At the same time, the internal wiring, which was already getting on in years, was also replaced. 

Technically as well as optically, the SME is now in near mint condition. 

The SME tone arm is equipped with a brand new Ortofon 2M bronze MM cartridge. The combination in conjunction with the TD124 harmonizes perfectly and sounds absolutely amazing.
