"Top of the line" TD124 in the highest available configuration at the time with the desirable and rare original Thorens 12" plinth and  SHURE SME 3012 Series II Tonearm.

Originally, this particular TD124 came with a Thorens BTD-12S tonearm .

With the goal of getting the most out of the TD124's sound the previous owner tasked a professional company in the mid 60's with upgrading the device with a SHURE-SME 3012 tonearm and a matching plinth.

A few years later, the Thorens underwent another upgrade in the form of a Brand new SHURE V15III cartridge which was newly released in 1970.

The TD124 drive has undergone a complete rebuild with ALL sintered Bronze bushings replaced. The SHURE-SME tonearm has also been completely rebuilt and fitten with new SWISSONOR cabling. 

It's obvious that the previous owner took very good care of the device, thus

the plinth only needed minor refurbishment. However, for aesthetic reasons the original tonearm board received a new repainted.

In order to preserve the authenticity of  this "piece of art", we installed a brand new N.O.S. SHURE V15III cartridge. In terms of sound, this legendary cartridge is still among the best MM carts available today.
